I'm Not Going To Be In A Battle About It

I read this quote that went something like, pigeons flock together but eagles fly alone.   I think I’ll fly like an eagle. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”   Isaiah 40:31. If you are listening, everything is heighten with MS.   What I mean is, if you get a cold or have a few choice words with someone; well with MS you get more than just that cold or a difference with someone.   Everything effects MS one way or the other.   Whatever the effect is, it’s usually not in the best interest of the person with MS. Is a person supposed to build a house inside a plastic bubble?   In life, you will be on the mountain top and at times, you can be in the valley low. It's Hot In Here!

There was spring like weather for a couple of days, I tried going out.   I was glad to put on a spring outfit & no coat.   Well, I was in for a rude awakening because I was miserable.    It was hot! Heat may cause a worsening of MS symptoms. I think temperature sensitivity is something that is common in all MS patients. I wa s, well, the best way for me to describe it is, I felt some kind of way. At the time, I was visiting family and to hide how I was feeling, I sat on the couch and went to sleep.   I didn't want to try & explain to family nor did I want to alarm my husband about how I felt. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Why?

Early in the diagnosis of MS a friend told me that she was having a problem with button up shirts and I didn't understand so I just listened to her story.  My point is,  today, I GET IT!  It takes me 30 minutes to button my shirt; 45 or so just to zipen my coat. I can't be that person that says, I  can't do it.  I have to try!

OK

Sometimes I just have to encourage myself.  MS is rough, frequently I've had some bad days, but I am going to be alright.  I might bend, but I wont break and I am ok, because I got faith. I know that there is a blessing after every trial. I know that God made me strong for a reason so when MS gets heavy I encourage myself. I am alright, I am ok, I am going to make it. Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." ~  Jeremiah 17:14

Don't Go There

I read this interesting article on  Everyday Health that made a good point about germs & assistive devices.   I don’t leave home without my cane and probably have dropped it a thousand times.   I found the article interesting because I never gave it much thought.   It’s ironic that I didn’t because with MS & the immune system being suppressed, I like everything clean.   I laugh at myself because I say that I must have the cleanest hands in town with perpetually washing my hands. I don’t touch public door knobs. That’s to name a couple of things; with most things one might say I’m over the top. Here is the kicker, I worked in a clinic. Testimony Tuesday

I’m losing weight. Not sure how many pounds but I feel myself thinning out.   I don’t know if it’s Tysabri, MS or the preventive medication that combats one of the side effects of Tysabri.   My appetite has really decreased.   I remember my mom saying that it’s ok to gain a few pounds so that if you get sick and lose a couple of pounds; everything will blend in.   Well, here I go. Speaking of losing weight; I read a fantastic article in  Healthline.com on easing MS symptoms with exercise.   Seven were mentioned; I might try at least five. T here is nothing like feeling & looking good. I’m going to enjoy the spring/summer.   Winter was brutal!   Should I say IS brutal cause winter isn’t gone yet. I give thanks to God because He is God all by Himself; He don’t need no help.   I thank Him for His Grace & Mercy.   I thank God for providing for and protecting me daily. Words

I believe in the power of words. I was asked, if I say that I don’t have MS then why do I take the medicine?   Several answers to that question. I   don’t say it because:   (1)   I don’t want to be moved by my circumstances (2) I can’t ask God to bless me & then tell Him how (3) As I said, I believe in the power of words (4) I BELIEVE WHAT God says about me. Jesus said, Ruth, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”   Luke 17:19 then He said, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”   Psalm 139:14 Regarding the power of my words, God said ,” Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”   Proverbs 18:21.   In my own words, I BELIEVE WHAT I SAY & SAY WHAT I BELIEVE!   I don’t go by what I see. Family

It appears that Satan is on the attack against families. Anything that God holds honorable in His eyes, Satan tries to tear down. Satan is working overtime to create discord within families. Satan knows our weaknesses because he has sat around and listened to us for years. He puts a thought in our mind. We think that it is our thought so we say what we are thinking. The fight starts but God tells us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms " Ephesians 6:12.   Knowing we are in a battle against the forces of darkness, that is why God says, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” Ephesians 6:13. God Is

The thing about being diagnosed with MS; I don't have to go off of someone else's testimony. I know God for myself. I know that He's a Way maker. I know that He's a Shield.   I know that He's a Provider. I know that He's a Healer. I know He's a Protector. He is a Wonderful Counselor. I know that He is the Alpha & Omega. God is Good. God is Real. God is Love. God is my Light in this web of chronic disease of MS.   God is Able. God is my Father, my Friend, God is my Husband.   God is my Joy. God is my Strength. My God is my Today & Tomorrow.   God is a Promise Keeper; He never come short of His Word. God is my all and all! Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27

Ride With Me

Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the MS symptoms. At times, I am very forgetful.   I must write it down or otherwise I might forget. After a month, I remembered to return a call to a friend. Those types of things are becoming bothersome to me because I don’t want to appear stand offish. To be in my world, one must work with my strengths oppose to my weaknesses. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13. G et on the MS roller coaster and ride.That’s what it is like to have a love one or friend with MS. ONE BIG RIDE!   I must say, buckle up, make sure your seat belt is on because some days the ride might be bumpy. You must be strong to take this ride.   If there are any signs of weakness, well, the MS ride may not be for you. Remember, you can always get off at the next stop.
