Less Of Me...


MS has taught me many things and a few of them are:  Everyone has obstacles to overcome, I must be grateful, Thank God for the small triumphs. "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18

Life is full of setbacks and turn arounds.  Life is like a piano, it all depends on how you play it.  However God said that if I keep my mind stayed on Him, He'll keep me in perfect peace.

Be Still!

One of the hardest things about being diagnosed with MS is learning to live with it.   Honestly, I don’t think I have learned.   I did learn that one of the first things that you must master is managing.   That is learn to manage time, energy, memory, limitations, space.   I probably forgot somethings but what I’m saying is, you start to look at people, places, and things differently. Gotta Serve Somebody

Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset .   “Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight”. 1 st Peter 3:4 Whatever you choose to do, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”   Matthew 6:33.   If your first priority is God, the rest of your life will fall into place. There is power in having the proper priorities. For most of us, our lives could be summed up with this sentence: We do what we want to do before we do what we have to do. As people, we try to fit God and His Will into our lives.   We want to be pleasing to God, but only after we have pleased ourselves.   So we seek our own will.   We figure that once we have our stuff out of the way, we will have time for the Lord. ...

How Do You Feel?

I belong to this MS site, I can’t remember the name of it.   However, my point is, it always ask the question of “How Do You Feel”? In keeping track of my feelings, today is not a good day.   I find that drama only work if I do.   So guess what, I quit!   My spirit said, stop feeding it. It is living off of you, Ruth. I feel like a light bulb in a dark room, a flower waiting to bloom.   Today I’m feeling like I don’t belong anywhere.   I feel like a door with no knob, a bird with no wings.   I feel bent but not broken. Now, that I got that out of my spirit, I’ll tell you that, MS is a lonely road to travel.   Learning how to be humble hurts. It hurts to the core.   Oh, did I say, today my energy level is so low.   I feel like all I can do is breath & maybe wink my eyes every now & then. Someone Like You

I must say that sometimes how or what I write may not be proper English.  I usually write the way it is on my mind.  It all depends on the way that I feel & I'm not always feeling proper or as some may call it, NORMAL.  What's that? I was talking to a friend today; it was a refreshing conversation. I admire her, she get it. She reached out to me when the doctor first diagnosed MS. She gives me a lot of good information concerning the disease. I’M GRATEFUL!   I said all that to say, it’s good to find someone that can relate to  MS.   Experience has taught me that most people don’t get it unless they are walking in it. In other words, unless the doctor has diagnosed them.  “ Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. ” Proverbs 13:20 I read another good article about how MS can and does affect social lives. Today is a Gift

Sometimes a task as simple as zipping up my coat or tying my shoe becomes a struggle. Today I tried to clean the kitchen and MS decided to step in.   I got this excruciating pain in my lower back. When I get this type of pain it effects walking & standing. Feels like I’m twisted. However I was determined to clean so I got my walker & when needed, I sat down. Basically, I sat down to wipe off the stove and counter. Sometimes it gets a little frustrating trying to do something that I know I’m capable of, but I just can’t get it right.   In dealing with MS my task is to become my best self. It is a good thing to know that one of God's greatest gifts to me is the joy of trying again, for no failure ever need be final. Can Not Lose

I was sitting with my husband trying to get his attention & I just happen to look up at his computer screen, it read a little something like; what do you think?   With God on our side, we can’t lose.   Immediately; Jesus brought two scriptures to my attention which were: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, [ neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,   neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8-38:39.  “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord .   Isaiah 54:17.  The part that stuck out was “No weapon”.  In my words, the weapon might form, but it won’t work. Livin

I was talking to my niece today & she asked me, what did I have plan for today?   I had to explain to her that with being diagnosed with MS, my days are based on how I feel. If I don’t feel it, I don’t do it.   The only thing that I do even when I don’t feel up to it is, get the Tysabri treatment.   (Read more @ Tysabrihcp.com ) .   This medication does not change the way I feel.   It does what it is designed to do and that is slow down the progression of the disease.   Once I understood that, I could deal with getting it better. On most days I feel fatigue, pain, pens & needles feeling in my feet.   The pain is never in the same place.   It could be in hands, feet, legs, back, head, eyes, face or whatever MS decides to do on that day.   I like to use the terms that MS is sneaky and unpredictable.   I never know what I’m dealing with. Where Did It Come From?

As I said before, there is no rhyme or reasoning to my blogging.   None of this is in chronical order.   I write as it is on my mind. When the doctor first diagnosed MS, while waiting for test results; he said something to the effect of if I don’t have it; he might as well retire. I thought 4 things:   (1) well, you idiot, you better go ahead home cause I DO NOT HAVE MS! (2) How will I manage it all? (3) How will it affect my husband? (4) God, what are You saying?   I was afraid.   Afraid of the unknown. Isaiah 43:1 “B ut now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Traveling through this journey, the only comfort that I have is knowing that God; created me, redeemed me, knows my name, is with me.   Otherwise I would have thrown up my hands & given up by now.   Oh, after three years, I still don’t know what God is tr...
