Less Of Me...


MS has taught me many things and a few of them are:  Everyone has obstacles to overcome, I must be grateful, Thank God for the small triumphs. "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18

Life is full of setbacks and turn arounds.  Life is like a piano, it all depends on how you play it.  However God said that if I keep my mind stayed on Him, He'll keep me in perfect peace.

A Wise Man

I heard a pastor say something this afternoon and it went a little like this:   God allows somethings to come into your life so that He can show you who He is. He said, it was God that woke you up this morning.   It was God that sent a message to your brain so that you could identify what you’re looking at. It was God that touched your central nervous system to carry messages from your brain along the spinal cord and to the rest of your body so you could move. I remember this so vividly because it was as if God stood in front of me & spoke these very words. By this I will know that God is for me.   Psalm 56:9  All God wants is a thank You! THANK YOU LORD

I read Isaiah 41:13 today and I was blessed by what God said to me & I would like to share it with you. “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” With the heat, humidity outside today and the MS cold; these words take authority over the way I feel because I know that I have help and I do not have to fight this battle.   All I have to do is stand still because He says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 BE BLESSED!

Be Kind To Yourself!

Now, I know personally how stress affects MS and I understand what people meant by saying, Ruth, be kind to yourself.   I’m finding that making changes to my life style/diet helps with managing MS symptoms. I'm not on any particular diet, I just eat less & feel better.

My Story

I don’t know if lack of appetite is an MS symptom but I experience it sporadically. I love to eat; that is what I do. Lately I have no desire to eat anything. Everything taste horrible. With not eating comes nausea. It’s like morning sickness when passed the child bearing age. I drink plenty of water and juice to avoid dehydration.   My husband tells me to try and force myself to eat; however if I do; everything will end up on the floor. If I don’t lose the food, but don’t eat it all, well, I don’t like left overs.   I don’t want to waste food so I don’t bother unless I know that I know.   Lately, I DON’T KNOW if I’ll eat it or not.   I might get it in my mouth but I can’t chew or swallow it. This is really becoming a problem for two reasons: I don’t like taking medication on an empty stomach and I’ll be the first to stand and say that when I don’t eat; I’m very moody. Talk To Me

I probably said this once but I started this blog and every other social media site because I want to talk  about MS. I want to read about MS.  I want to learn every thing I can about MS. I talk about it because I don't want anybody feeling alone and misunderstood. I say that because  MS isn't commonly discussed in the African American community. If MS isn't discussed, who do you talk to? Family and friends don't understand. Neighbors don't get it either. Can't talk about it on the job. Who do you run to?  Who do you talk to?  “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.   Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”   1st Peter 5:6-7  Again I say; disease is disease!  To not have any knowledge about a particular subject makes one ignorant to the fact. It's Already Done!

This is a ministering moment.   A moment of encouragement.   I do a lot of that.   Whatever works for you; I suggest that you use it because MS can & will walk all over you.   I was sitting here mediating on the Word of God.   Not questioning Him, but wondering why me; MS & Tysabri invading my space.   I’m not questioning God because I know none of this could happen without going through God’s hands first.   If He allowed this to happen then He must have a plan cause I don’t have a clue. Outside of that, I could hear God say, you have to go through the fire but you won’t get burnt.   He said I won’t pull you out of the fire but I will get into it with you.
