Why?

Early in the diagnosis of MS a friend told me that she was having a problem with button up shirts and I didn't understand so I just listened to her story.  My point is,  today, I GET IT!  It takes me 30 minutes to button my shirt; 45 or so just to zipen my coat.

I can't be that person that says, I  can't do it.  I have to try!

Stupid!

Out of curiosity, what is a MS flare-up like in your world?   Have you ever had one? My first one was, well, there I go using that word again.   It was scary.   I awoke & could not talk, walk. I still had my mind.   However; no signals were getting to the brain.   I could see & hear what was going on around me, but I couldn’t respond. I don’t know why, but my husband took me to the bathroom & sat me on the toilet.   I fell; I couldn’t even sit up by myself.   It was by God’s Grace that I wasn’t hurt. “ You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus” 2nd Timothy 2:1 I couldn’t walk, talk or think but God allowed the first thing on my mind to be, oh Lord.   I thought, oh Lord, do I have to spend the rest of my life like this?   I remember thinking, my God is bigger than this.   MS that is. The Truth Is!

I don’t always feel like smiling, or doing the things I know to be right.   I don’t always feel peace & joy. There are moments I feel like crying, I feel like I’m about to break or my earth is about to shake. The harder I try the worse it gets, and failure is on my back. I had rough mornings in which turns into rough days which ends as a rough week. But in those times, I press on. What and how I’m feeling is a part of living life with MS, but I won’t allow it to STOP MY LIFE. I refuse to park here. I’m going to release these feelings back to the pit of hell. I won’t always feel and sometimes I don’t look like I’m fearfully and wonderfully made, BUT I AM…… “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well”. I was on  Multiplesclerosis.net and there is a article about loneliness, MS, disability.  It is very powerful & it has some truth to it for me.  I think at some point with a disease that you can't actually see, we all probably feel some sort of isolation.  Without getting into details, it is a good story & worth reading. In The Know

In the midst of doing research, I found an article about using sleep deprivation for severe depression.   It stated that sleep deprivation has a total opposite effect in healthy people then those with depression. The article said if you are healthy and don’t sleep, you develop an attitude but if you are depressed, it can improve your mood/cognitive behavior. I had to share for a couple of reasons:   I thought it was funny because if I read in to it, “I’m healthy & I’m not depressed”.   Because when I’m tired or sleepy; I quickly get an attitude and I’m going to sleep. Depression is a part of MS.   My opinion is that, we will all deal with it in one way or the other. The Gift of a Relationship Ruth and I have chosen to put our trust in Jesus not man. When people are faced with a life time of hardships, many will turn to religion, but religion is not the answer, a relationship with Jesus is. I believe that we must develop a relationship with our creator. Religion only gives us guidelines to live by, because religion in no more than rules and regulations to live by. A relationship on the other hand will occupy every part of your being. Relationships are intimate, up close and personal. An intimate relationship with Jesus is no differences from what we have with other closest friends and family members. The only difference is the way we get to know Jesus; through his word ( the Bible ). He already knows us: “ I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb, before you were born I set you apart ” Jeremiah 1:5 . In life people can and often do let us down, things change. I hàven’t blogged in a bit because I haven't had much to say. I haven't read much about MS worth sharing. Eating healthy is half of the battle with a MS diagnosis.  I discovered five important benefits in eating healthy:  Increase of cognitive behavior, sleep all night, mobility, lower A1C levels, increase energy. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?   If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. March is MS awareness month.  #Go Orange As I celebrate March, I noticed my stability is decreasing.  It is becoming more of an effort to walk. I also noticed my speech becoming more slurred. Love Has No Limits! AGAPE

I was looking at Pinterest and this quote about love caught my attention.   It really touched my heart because we all want to love and be loved.   Problem is, we don't all know what AGAPE LOVE is.   Do you know?  Life has taught me that love has many different emotional and mental states.   In life we can be loving or not. We all want to hear that four letter word because it makes us feel alive. Therapeutically in my relationship with Jesus, I learned in 1st John 4:8, " God is love". Love is part of His character and what He does is influenced by love.   In John 15:13, God says, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”   The question remains, do you see AGAPE LOVE in your life?   Do you show AGAPE LOVE to your friends & family “Let all that you do be done with love.”                 1st Corinthians 16:14
