I read this quote that went something like, pigeons flock together but eagles fly alone.   I think I’ll fly like an eagle. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”   Isaiah 40:31. If you are listening, everything is heighten with MS.   What I mean is, if you get a cold or have a few choice words with someone; well with MS you get more than just that cold or a difference with someone.   Everything effects MS one way or the other.   Whatever the effect is, it’s usually not in the best interest of the person with MS. Is a person supposed to build a house inside a plastic bubble?   In life, you will be on the mountain top and at times, you can be in the valley low. It's Hot In Here!

There was spring like weather for a couple of days, I tried going out.   I was glad to put on a spring outfit & no coat.   Well, I was in for a rude awakening because I was miserable.    It was hot! Heat may cause a worsening of MS symptoms. I think temperature sensitivity is something that is common in all MS patients. I wa s, well, the best way for me to describe it is, I felt some kind of way. At the time, I was visiting family and to hide how I was feeling, I sat on the couch and went to sleep.   I didn't want to try & explain to family nor did I want to alarm my husband about how I felt. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Itchy & Scratchy

MS Itch has me feeling like I'm in "The Itchy & Scratchy Show".          MS is Itchy & I'm Scratchy! I was reading this article about the MS itch. I don't know what site I was on. My point is, I would not call it an itch.  My experience is, it feels more like a burning sensation.  So uncomfortable that it feels as if someone is holding a match to my skin.  Yes, I scratch because it's bothersome and I want the feeling to go away.  I only get this feeling in my legs and feet. One day I felt so uncomfortable that I told myself I was going to cut my legs off & call myself shorty. 😊 I have to make lite of it all because I do not want to be moved by my circumstances.  I do have some relief; I use medicated cream.  The cream helps for about 6-8 hours or so. “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.   Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good.” Psalm 34:7...

Gotta Serve Somebody

Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset .   “Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight”. 1 st Peter 3:4 Whatever you choose to do, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”   Matthew 6:33.   If your first priority is God, the rest of your life will fall into place. There is power in having the proper priorities. For most of us, our lives could be summed up with this sentence: We do what we want to do before we do what we have to do. Refreshing

I had a great time at lunch yesterday with a group of friends. I feel really blessed to be a part of a MS support group. There is a lot of wisdom in the room; along with good people.   It is an honor and privilege to talk to people that are traveling the same road that I'm on.   “Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it.” Ezra 10:4  I was reading Healthline and 12 foods were listed for being high in vitamin B12. After looking at the list, my first thought was OMG.   I know I might have a deficiency because out of the items listed, I probably eat two things.   The foods are as follows: Organ meats, clams, sardines, beef, fortified cereal, tuna, fortified nutritional yeast, trout, salmon, fortified nondairy milk, eggs, milk & dairy products.                               BE BLESSED!

Do you know who you are? I am a child of God (John 1:12)  “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” I am a friend of God (John 15:15) "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. What Not To Do

I was looking at  Everyday Health and noticed an article about MS and the environment. Smoking was one of the things listed that triggers MS symptoms.   The newsletter states that those who smoke have MS attacks more frequently. There were other triggers listed, but I focused on smoking because I am confused. Confused because I read the part about smoking as an oxymoron.   Why, because if smoking triggers an MS attack then why is marijuana being pushed medically for MS patients? I’m just saying!   Smoke is smoke.   I guess this is another doctor, patient conversation. This blew my mind too, in the same news letter, foods to avoid.  To my knowledge there is no special diet for those with MS.  I guess the following foods can trigger an attack:  Milk, saturated fats, trans fats, sugar, sodium, refined grains, gluten. Why?

Early in the diagnosis of MS a friend told me that she was having a problem with button up shirts and I didn't understand so I just listened to her story.  My point is,  today, I GET IT!  It takes me 30 minutes to button my shirt; 45 or so just to zipen my coat. I can't be that person that says, I  can't do it.  I have to try!

Don't Go There

I read this interesting article on  Everyday Health that made a good point about germs & assistive devices.   I don’t leave home without my cane and probably have dropped it a thousand times.   I found the article interesting because I never gave it much thought.   It’s ironic that I didn’t because with MS & the immune system being suppressed, I like everything clean.   I laugh at myself because I say that I must have the cleanest hands in town with perpetually washing my hands. I don’t touch public door knobs. That’s to name a couple of things; with most things one might say I’m over the top. Here is the kicker, I worked in a clinic. Work was a constant battle with cleanliness.  God says, “I will save those who love me and will protect those who acknowledge me as Lord. Testimony Tuesday

I’m losing weight. Not sure how many pounds but I feel myself thinning out.   I don’t know if it’s Tysabri, MS or the preventive medication that combats one of the side effects of Tysabri.   My appetite has really decreased.   I remember my mom saying that it’s ok to gain a few pounds so that if you get sick and lose a couple of pounds; everything will blend in.   Well, here I go. Speaking of losing weight; I read a fantastic article in  Healthline.com on easing MS symptoms with exercise.   Seven were mentioned; I might try at least five. T here is nothing like feeling & looking good. I’m going to enjoy the spring/summer.   Winter was brutal!   Should I say IS brutal cause winter isn’t gone yet. I give thanks to God because He is God all by Himself; He don’t need no help.   I thank Him for His Grace & Mercy.   I thank God for providing for and protecting me daily.
