HOPE

There is hope for MS patients and others with a chronic disease because God said, "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you." ... 1 Peter 5:10

I hàven’t blogged in a bit because I haven't had much to say. I haven't read much about MS worth sharing. Eating healthy is half of the battle with a MS diagnosis.  I discovered five important benefits in eating healthy:  Increase of cognitive behavior, sleep all night, mobility, lower A1C levels, increase energy. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?   If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. Refreshing

I had a great time at lunch yesterday with a group of friends. I feel really blessed to be a part of a MS support group. There is a lot of wisdom in the room; along with good people.   It is an honor and privilege to talk to people that are traveling the same road that I'm on.   “Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it.” Ezra 10:4  I was reading Healthline and 12 foods were listed for being high in vitamin B12. After looking at the list, my first thought was OMG.   I know I might have a deficiency because out of the items listed, I probably eat two things.   The foods are as follows: Organ meats, clams, sardines, beef, fortified cereal, tuna, fortified nutritional yeast, trout, salmon, fortified nondairy milk, eggs, milk & dairy products.                               BE BLESSED!

I read Isaiah 41:13 today and I was blessed by what God said to me & I would like to share it with you. “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” With the heat, humidity outside today and the MS cold; these words take authority over the way I feel because I know that I have help and I do not have to fight this battle.   All I have to do is stand still because He says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 BE BLESSED!

Testimony Tuesday

I’m losing weight. Not sure how many pounds but I feel myself thinning out.   I don’t know if it’s Tysabri, MS or the preventive medication that combats one of the side effects of Tysabri.   My appetite has really decreased.   I remember my mom saying that it’s ok to gain a few pounds so that if you get sick and lose a couple of pounds; everything will blend in.   Well, here I go. Speaking of losing weight; I read a fantastic article in  Healthline.com on easing MS symptoms with exercise.   Seven were mentioned; I might try at least five. T here is nothing like feeling & looking good. I’m going to enjoy the spring/summer.   Winter was brutal!   Should I say IS brutal cause winter isn’t gone yet. I give thanks to God because He is God all by Himself; He don’t need no help.   I thank Him for His Grace & Mercy.   I thank God for providing for and protecting me daily. SMALL TRIUMPHS & FRIENDS

I have a childhood friend and with the good, bad & ugly in life she is always there for me. Point being, I had a short stay in the hospital & when I was released, I text her to thank her for her generosity. I received a response from her that really lifted my spirits. In respecting her privacy, I'll share some of what was said without using her name. Hey Ruth no need to thank me for anything. What I know  and dont take for granted is we are Friends & Sister till the end. Yes we get lost in time and in our everyday lives but I will ALWAYS be  there for you. Im only a phone call or text away. Dont ever forget that.

Pursue Peace!

I write as God gives it to me.   To the naked eye there is no rhyme or reason to it all.   Look with your spiritual eye.   My plan is to write about MS, experiencing it personally along with some of the daily challenges.   I guess that will come into play occasionally but today; He gave me this: I was listening to a pastor this morning and he said something very powerful.   He said in Ephesians 4:30 where God says, “ Do Not Grieve the Spirit ”.   We always refer that to something super natural, but when we miss treat our family, we are grieving the Holy Spirit.   We are grieving Him when we don’t speak to one another because the power of unity in the Holy Spirit cannot/will not flow unless we get rid of all the hypocrisy.   “ He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. Gotta Serve Somebody

Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset .   “Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight”. 1 st Peter 3:4 Whatever you choose to do, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”   Matthew 6:33.   If your first priority is God, the rest of your life will fall into place. There is power in having the proper priorities. For most of us, our lives could be summed up with this sentence: We do what we want to do before we do what we have to do. As people, we try to fit God and His Will into our lives.   We want to be pleasing to God, but only after we have pleased ourselves.   So we seek our own will.   We figure that once we have our stuff out of the way, we will have time for the Lord. ...

A WORD TO THE WISE!

I believe that prayer is a vital part of a successful marriage, because I invite Christ into my marriage to shape each of us as He desires. It is not up to me to change and shape my husband, it is up to Christ, after all He knows so much better than I do. I believe I can bring good to my husband through prayer. Prayer for his integrity, his strengths, his weaknesses, his walk, his work – for every aspect of His life.

FYI

I read several good articles about how certain things effect those diagnosed with MS.  One of them was so funny and made me think that the person who  wrote it must know me.  LOL........................ One article spoke about social situations and how MS patients can/do perceive things wrong.  Someone can say something without malicious intentions & because of how the brain processes information a person with MS can perceive the person to be angry. Read more @ Healthline.com The reason it was funny cause when I'm talking to my husband, I sometime  say, I'm not going to argue with you and he'll say, Ruth, we are not arguing, we are just talking.  Sometimes it sounds like he is yelling at me.  After reading this article somethings make more sense.
