Family

Image
It appears that Satan is on the attack against families. Anything that God holds honorable in His eyes, Satan tries to tear down. Satan is working overtime to create discord within families. Satan knows our weaknesses because he has sat around and listened to us for years. He puts a thought in our mind. We think that it is our thought so we say what we are thinking. The fight starts but God tells us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms " Ephesians 6:12.   Knowing we are in a battle against the forces of darkness, that is why God says, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” Ephesians 6:13. For true accountability, there must be a serious level of transparency, made visible by light shin...

You Said...

Looking over previous blogs brings me joy because it reminds me that GOD IS IN CONTROL. No matter what the doctor say.   It don’t even matter what you say because GOD IS IN CONTROL! T oday is a good day.   I’m in my happy place...😊😊😊   I originally started this blog to encourage myself.   As the young people say, “I’m needy”.   I need encouragement.   In knowing that; I started reading & studying the bible to see what God thinks about me.   “Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground” Genesis 1:26. I don’t know if it is MS or that I’m becoming of age but I got zero tolerance for BS.   Maybe I’ll say it is MS because it tries to control every other part of life.   So, why not?   Point being, I find myself trying to explain my...

I'm Not Going To Be In A Battle About It

I read this quote that went something like, pigeons flock together but eagles fly alone.   I think I’ll fly like an eagle. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”   Isaiah 40:31. If you are listening, everything is heighten with MS.   What I mean is, if you get a cold or have a few choice words with someone; well with MS you get more than just that cold or a difference with someone.   Everything effects MS one way or the other.   Whatever the effect is, it’s usually not in the best interest of the person with MS. Is a person supposed to build a house inside a plastic bubble?   In life, you will be on the mountain top and at times, you can be in the valley low. The real question is, at what point does a person say enough is an enough?   With my futile mind and basic knowledge of MS, I learned that this is a real figh...

Do You Hear What I Hear

Mu ch to my annoyance, I like my music up loud, my husband told me that I was noisy. Lately, my tolerance level is low for loud sounds. It is too much. Today as I was reading Very Well Health , I noticed information about hearing and MS. The article is one of those things that make you go MMM. Being of age can have something to do with aggravation to loud sounds. Consequently, Very Well Health states that sensitivity to loud sounds can become m ore prominent in MS patients. I got one question.   Is there any part of the body that MS doesn’t try to invade?   I’m a very private person and for me to share space with MS, well, it’s just too much. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”.   Romans 10:17

Thought Of The Day

Set your heart on doing the Will of God and you will be instantly free .   “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” Isaiah 54:17. There is no better or safer place than to be in God’s Will. Genesis 1:26 God made us in His image. We have the ability to reflect His character in our love, patience, forgiveness, kindness and faithfulness. Luke 18:35 No matter how desperate your situation may seem, if you call out to Jesus in faith, He will help you. Psa lm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” 2nd Thessalonians 3:16 “ M ay the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way”. “The Lord be with you all”.

God Is

The thing about being diagnosed with MS; I don't have to go off of someone else's testimony. I know God for myself. I know that He's a Way maker. I know that He's a Shield.   I know that He's a Provider. I know that He's a Healer. I know He's a Protector. He is a Wonderful Counselor. I know that He is the Alpha & Omega. God is Good. God is Real. God is Love. God is my Light in this web of chronic disease of MS.   God is Able. God is my Father, my Friend, God is my Husband.   God is my Joy. God is my Strength. My God is my Today & Tomorrow.   God is a Promise Keeper; He never come short of His Word. God is my all and all! Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27

What Not To Do

I was looking at  Everyday Health and noticed an article about MS and the environment. Smoking was one of the things listed that triggers MS symptoms.   The newsletter states that those who smoke have MS attacks more frequently. There were other triggers listed, but I focused on smoking because I am confused. Confused because I read the part about smoking as an oxymoron.   Why, because if smoking triggers an MS attack then why is marijuana being pushed medically for MS patients? I’m just saying!   Smoke is smoke.   I guess this is another doctor, patient conversation. This blew my mind too, in the same news letter, foods to avoid.  To my knowledge there is no special diet for those with MS.  I guess the following foods can trigger an attack:  Milk, saturated fats, trans fats, sugar, sodium, refined grains, gluten. Speaking personally, eating healthy may decrease the time between relapses.  “For everything God created is good, a...

Know Who You Are

Image
Do you know who you are? I am a child of God (John 1:12)  “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” I am a friend of God (John 15:15) "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” I am complete in Jesus ( Colossians 2:10)  “You are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” Yes I can (Philippians 4:13) “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Think About It

Image
I was reading a blog on  MS.net titled MS and Jealously.   The blogger talked about sometime being jealous of family, friends, and strangers because they are doing the things that he once did.   However, we all know that once diagnosed things change.   Life as you once knew it is of the past.   He also warned that the anger can turn into depression. MS makes me feel like I am fighting for my life. I also came to the conclusion that, I’m not created to be like everyone else.   With or without MS, I’m different and will stand out in a crowd.   I can’t say much about what I read in the blog because MS has not touched my life in the way that he wrote about. With that being said, I will be extremely careful and extremely aware about what I allow in my mind to think about and what I choose to dwell on. God says in Proverbs 3:27, "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he." God tells us what we should dwell on in Philippians 4:8. “Finally, brothers ...

Speak Now Forever Hold Your Peace

Image
Being diagnosed with MS makes one reflect on life.   I’ve learned to thank God for the small triumphs.   I stop taking things for granted.   Case and point, three words came to my mind, red, purple & blue.   I thank God for speech.   Lord, I thank You! Red represents power and courage Purple is often associated with royalty          Blue represents loyalty Colors tel l a story . Words are not just sounds. Our words have real power. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue,” Proverbs 18:21. God spoke the world into existence by the power of His word. “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God,” Hebrews 11:3. Words do more than provide information. The power of our words can destroy or build up one’s spirit. “The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit” Proverbs 15:4. With all the creatures on this earth, man is the only one that has the ability to c...
