Keep it Movin

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.   Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you."  Philippians 3:12-15

Brain Fog. What?

Image
I experience this one every day.  I guess this is my new way of living.  I haven't done any research, all I know is how I feel.  Brain fog played a major factor in being unable to work.

GOOD TIMES!!!!! :)

I had to share this because I'm sure we all felt this & besides it was funny.  Laugher is good for the soul.  If you don't find something to laugh at, you might cry.  At least I will. 😊😊

Orange in March

I was on  Multiplesclerosis.net and there is a article about loneliness, MS, disability.  It is very powerful & it has some truth to it for me.  I think at some point with a disease that you can't actually see, we all probably feel some sort of isolation.  Without getting into details, it is a good story & worth reading. Guess what time it is?

Be Kind To Yourself!

Image
Now, I know personally how stress affects MS and I understand what people meant by saying, Ruth, be kind to yourself.   I’m finding that making changes to my life style/diet helps with managing MS symptoms. I'm not on any particular diet, I just eat less & feel better.

How Do You Feel?

I belong to this MS site, I can’t remember the name of it.   However, my point is, it always ask the question of “How Do You Feel”? In keeping track of my feelings, today is not a good day.   I find that drama only work if I do.   So guess what, I quit!   My spirit said, stop feeding it. It is living off of you, Ruth. I feel like a light bulb in a dark room, a flower waiting to bloom.   Today I’m feeling like I don’t belong anywhere.   I feel like a door with no knob, a bird with no wings.   I feel bent but not broken. Now, that I got that out of my spirit, I’ll tell you that, MS is a lonely road to travel.   Learning how to be humble hurts. It hurts to the core.   Oh, did I say, today my energy level is so low.   I feel like all I can do is breath & maybe wink my eyes every now & then. The fatigue is so heavy that I don’t think I can wink both eyes, maybe just one of them. God clearly states, “I have given you au...

A Teaching Moment

The biggest mistake that people make or don’t realize is there is a mental aspect to MS.   After three years, I believe, that is where some of us fail.   With or without the disease, it can be complicated to grasp it all.   As people, we get set in our ways & want to do things a certain way.   Well, you better learn another way because MS sets out to ruin what you’re use to. In knowing about the mental aspect of MS, I have to constantly remind myself that God said, “ You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You” Isaiah 26:3. In my words, I fill my mind with God’s Word so that I have no room for whatever MS tries to throw at me. You have to define what mental means to you. MS affect us all differently.   For those of you that don’t know; mental can be stressed, depressed, overwhelmed, brain fog, etc. Whatever it is there is no pill for this. You have to find what works for you. I think some people crash ...

Where Did It Come From?

As I said before, there is no rhyme or reasoning to my blogging.   None of this is in chronical order.   I write as it is on my mind. When the doctor first diagnosed MS, while waiting for test results; he said something to the effect of if I don’t have it; he might as well retire. I thought 4 things:   (1) well, you idiot, you better go ahead home cause I DO NOT HAVE MS! (2) How will I manage it all? (3) How will it affect my husband? (4) God, what are You saying?   I was afraid.   Afraid of the unknown. Isaiah 43:1 “B ut now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Traveling through this journey, the only comfort that I have is knowing that God; created me, redeemed me, knows my name, is with me.   Otherwise I would have thrown up my hands & given up by now.   Oh, after three years, I still don’t know what God is tr...

Joy

Remember when I told you that MS can & will walk over you?   Well, here I go again; feeling like I’ve been walk on, up one side & down the other.   In other words, I have been sick for about a week in a half.   I’m just starting to feel normal, whatever that is.   Today is the first day that I could get out of bed by myself.   Basically, according to my husband, it was like I was a paraplegic.   However, I decided that I’m not going to sit around feeling sorry for myself.   I’m not going to have a “whoa it’s me” moment.   I might be slower, I might have to do it a little different but I’m not going to succumb to MS.   I’m not going to be sad, depressed or none of that because I’m a child of THE MOST HIGH GOD! I’m not telling you that everything is peaches & cream.  I’m still dragging my left leg along.  What I’m telling you is, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him” Job 13:15.   I have to.  ...

Stupid!

Out of curiosity, what is a MS flare-up like in your world?   Have you ever had one? My first one was, well, there I go using that word again.   It was scary.   I awoke & could not talk, walk. I still had my mind.   However; no signals were getting to the brain.   I could see & hear what was going on around me, but I couldn’t respond. I don’t know why, but my husband took me to the bathroom & sat me on the toilet.   I fell; I couldn’t even sit up by myself.   It was by God’s Grace that I wasn’t hurt. “ You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus” 2nd Timothy 2:1 I couldn’t walk, talk or think but God allowed the first thing on my mind to be, oh Lord.   I thought, oh Lord, do I have to spend the rest of my life like this?   I remember thinking, my God is bigger than this.   MS that is. I also remember thinking about John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to dest...
