A Teaching Moment

The biggest mistake that people make or don’t realize is there is a mental aspect to MS.   After three years, I believe, that is where some of us fail.   With or without the disease, it can be complicated to grasp it all.   As people, we get set in our ways & want to do things a certain way.   Well, you better learn another way because MS sets out to ruin what you’re use to. In knowing about the mental aspect of MS, I have to constantly remind myself that God said, “ You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You” Isaiah 26:3. In my words, I fill my mind with God’s Word so that I have no room for whatever MS tries to throw at me. You have to define what mental means to you. Don't Go There

I read this interesting article on  Everyday Health that made a good point about germs & assistive devices.   I don’t leave home without my cane and probably have dropped it a thousand times.   I found the article interesting because I never gave it much thought.   It’s ironic that I didn’t because with MS & the immune system being suppressed, I like everything clean.   I laugh at myself because I say that I must have the cleanest hands in town with perpetually washing my hands. I don’t touch public door knobs. That’s to name a couple of things; with most things one might say I’m over the top. Here is the kicker, I worked in a clinic. I read Isaiah 41:13 today and I was blessed by what God said to me & I would like to share it with you. “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” With the heat, humidity outside today and the MS cold; these words take authority over the way I feel because I know that I have help and I do not have to fight this battle.   All I have to do is stand still because He says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 BE BLESSED!

Someone Like You

I must say that sometimes how or what I write may not be proper English.  I usually write the way it is on my mind.  It all depends on the way that I feel & I'm not always feeling proper or as some may call it, NORMAL.  What's that? I was talking to a friend today; it was a refreshing conversation. I admire her, she get it. She reached out to me when the doctor first diagnosed MS. She gives me a lot of good information concerning the disease. I’M GRATEFUL!   I said all that to say, it’s good to find someone that can relate to  MS.   Experience has taught me that most people don’t get it unless they are walking in it. In other words, unless the doctor has diagnosed them.  “ Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. ” Proverbs 13:20 I read another good article about how MS can and does affect social lives. In The Know

In the midst of doing research, I found an article about using sleep deprivation for severe depression.   It stated that sleep deprivation has a total opposite effect in healthy people then those with depression. The article said if you are healthy and don’t sleep, you develop an attitude but if you are depressed, it can improve your mood/cognitive behavior. I had to share for a couple of reasons:   I thought it was funny because if I read in to it, “I’m healthy & I’m not depressed”.   Because when I’m tired or sleepy; I quickly get an attitude and I’m going to sleep. Depression is a part of MS.   My opinion is that, we will all deal with it in one way or the other. Purpose

I’m a woman with a purpose! I have a function in the body of Christ. I’m constantly pressing my way because I know that God will not let anything destroy my destiny. My balance is off. I might cannot stand too long or maybe walk with a limp, but God said His grace is sufficient.   But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
