Gotta Serve Somebody


Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.  “Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight”. 1st Peter 3:4

Whatever you choose to do, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”  Matthew 6:33.  If your first priority is God, the rest of your life will fall into place. There is power in having the proper priorities. For most of us, our lives could be summed up with this sentence: We do what we want to do before we do what we have to do.

As people, we try to fit God and His Will into our lives.  We want to be pleasing to God, but only after we have pleased ourselves.  So we seek our own will.  We figure that once we have our stuff out of the way, we will have time for the Lord.  However; this is not how it works.

Case and point, a lady said to me, “I have God on hold.”  She all but said, I want to finish doing my thing and then I’ll come to God.  I laughed with her but truly, I was saddened by her remarks. The bible clearly states, “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.”  Joshua 24:15

The cares of the world have a way of distracting us from our divine purpose. As a result, God allows us to have our way and the failure that goes along with it. What we don’t realize is that, God wants us to have the desires of our hearts, according to His will. “Delight yourself also in the LORD; And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

In other words, spend time with Him, seek Him - - - -FIRST!

As I said earlier, I felt stuck because heat & MS don't mix. Which leaves me in the house wishing that I was in a room without a roof.  In other words, I wanted to go outside to get some air & a little sun. I had the opportunity to go out and I enjoyed myself.  Oh, the heat wasn't to bad either. Point being is, I went shopping, well, window shopping 😄. While in the store looking at the clothes and noticing how people were dressed around me, I thought I need some new clothes or shorten it up a little bit. I Wanna Go

I long for 1 day to feel normal. I want to go walking  without support.  I want to go shopping. I want to go to the beach. I want to go to the park. I want to go on a trip. I want my house clean. I'm not complaining because I'm grateful for the grace that God has shown me "Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world." Philippians 2:14-15 I'm not sure what normalcy is but it has to be better than life with a MS diagnosis. My activity is becoming very limited. I stay medicated to alleviate the pain which allows me to move around more.

What Is This?

I never seen anything like this before in my life. MS is the lonest, the most expensive, the most complicated and I can go on forever. I never experienced anything like this before.  Right now, I feel like I'm the only person in the world. I feel like nobody cares and if they do, well, they don't understand.  With MS, to not  understand or to not care is the same thing. Because with both, one can not relate to the MS patient.  Speaking personally, that is what anyone with a chronic disease need, someone to understand and have the ability to relate to the disease and all the obstacles that come with it. I think I'm overwhelmed.  Sometimes I think too much. However I saw a quote that said "Sun is alone too, but still shines." FYI

I read several good articles about how certain things effect those diagnosed with MS.  One of them was so funny and made me think that the person who  wrote it must know me.  LOL........................ One article spoke about social situations and how MS patients can/do perceive things wrong.  Someone can say something without malicious intentions & because of how the brain processes information a person with MS can perceive the person to be angry. Read more @ Healthline.com The reason it was funny cause when I'm talking to my husband, I sometime  say, I'm not going to argue with you and he'll say, Ruth, we are not arguing, we are just talking.  Sometimes it sounds like he is yelling at me.  After reading this article somethings make more sense. It appears that Satan is on the attack against families. Anything that God holds honorable in His eyes, Satan tries to tear down. Satan is working overtime to create discord within families. Satan knows our weaknesses because he has sat around and listened to us for years. He puts a thought in our mind. We think that it is our thought so we say what we are thinking. The fight starts but God tells us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms " Ephesians 6:12.   Knowing we are in a battle against the forces of darkness, that is why God says, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” Ephesians 6:13. It's Getting Hot In Here, AGAIN

Well, I'm stuck again and this hot, dry weather isn't helping. We are in a heat wave so all activities must be inside with AC & fans going. I'll miss a few family, friend functions but honestly its not worth it. It's so hot that sometimes I don't even want to think. It just takes too much energy. With a MS diagnoses, it is like being in a fight. The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” EXODUS 33:14

A Teaching Moment

The biggest mistake that people make or don’t realize is there is a mental aspect to MS.   After three years, I believe, that is where some of us fail.   With or without the disease, it can be complicated to grasp it all.   As people, we get set in our ways & want to do things a certain way.   Well, you better learn another way because MS sets out to ruin what you’re use to. In knowing about the mental aspect of MS, I have to constantly remind myself that God said, “ You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You” Isaiah 26:3. In my words, I fill my mind with God’s Word so that I have no room for whatever MS tries to throw at me. You have to define what mental means to you. Less Of Me...

MS has taught me many things and a few of them are:  Everyone has obstacles to overcome, I must be grateful, Thank God for the small triumphs. " Rejoice always, pray continually, give t hanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. " 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 Life is full of setbacks and turn arounds.  Life is like a piano, it all depends on how you play it.  However God said that if I keep my mind stayed on Him, He'll keep me in perfect peace.

To bring you up where I am, I was diagnosed with MS in 2015.   I must say that there is a link between MS & depression.   Needless to say I was feeling some kind of way, but I’m so glad that I know Jesus.   I had to remind myself that God promises to keep me in perfect peace if I keep my mind stayed on Him.   “ You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”   Isaiah 26:3.   With that being said, God brought to my mind several scriptures:   Psalm 125:1 “   Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”   Isaiah 40:31   “   but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
